Anthony Benoit

Anthony has passed most of his life committed to rowing. He has won several medals at world championship level coxing the French national team, and is also a Henley finalist with the University of Lyon. Rowing quickly became the source for his passion for photography. Independent, curious and open-minded, he enjoyed stays in Scotland, Mexico and India to enlarge and develop his artistic vision. This year, he is continuing to improve his technique by covering different sports, whilst studying cinema as a postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh. Of course, he is continuing to cox student-based crews.

Merijn Soeters

Merijn Soeters (1981) has influenced the world of rowing photography in the Netherlands for the past decade. Based in Amsterdam, but eager to travel, he has witnessed the rise of a new rowing generation whilst visiting a broad variety of regattas and events. His reportage style ensures not only the action shots are taken, but also the important on-land moments get captured. He gets up close with international athletes to create personal portraits. Merijn shoots for a wide range of (inter)national newspapers, magazines, online media, companies and federations.

Hamish Roots

Hamish Roots is a professional photographer working throughout the UK and abroad. As an experienced oarsman his more artistic approach to rowing photography stems from a passion for and involvement in the sport for over 20 years, through strong compositions he seeks to bring the viewer closer to the moment so they may better understand and appreciate what athletes experience – both on and off the water. Hamish is often commissioned by organisations throughout the rowing sphere such as federations, rowing clubs, equipment manufacturers and major sponsors. As an expedition photographer Hamish took part in the “Kariba Moonrow” rowing 500km down the Zambezi in 2014 raising money for charity and is looking forwards to the follow-up trip planned in 2017, it’s not every day you row next to an elephant!
